Release Notes - AVR QTouch Studio 3.1.1 Product name: AVR QTouch Studio Release version: 3.1.1 Release date: 2010-02-11 Contents 1 Overview 2 Known Issues 3 System Requirements 4 Support 5 Related Links 1 Overview ---------- | Atmel's AVR QTouch Studio is a PC application providing real-time visualization of the QTouch debug data stream sent from the QT600, AVRTS2080A (aka. EVK2080A) and AVRTS2080B (aka. EVK2080B) evaluation boards. For more information about these and other touch related Atmel products, please visit http://atmel.com/qtouchsuite. For more information about Atmel and Atmel's full product range, please visit http://www.atmel.com/. 2 Known issues -------------- 1) Sharing of programs menu item Both the old 1.x versions of AVR QTouch Studio and the 2.0 and above version of AVR QTouch Studio will try to use the same programs menu item although these use different installers. As a consequence it will only be possible to start the last installed version using the programs menu icon and when uninstalling either of them the programs menu item will be removed. If the programs menu item starts the wrong version of AVR QTouch Studio, run the installer for the version of AVR QTouch Studio to be used and select "Repair" from the installer menu. Note: AVR QTouch Studio 1.1 will be installed/uninstalled if installing/uninstalling AVR Studio 4.16. 2) Naming of the AVRTS2080x evaluation boards. AVR QTouch Studio uses the names EVK2080A and EVK2080B instead of the correct new names AVRTS2080A and AVRTS2080B, respectively, in the help documentation. But, this is only a change of names, the evaluation boards are functionally identical. 3) Control view required If the Control view is closed then AVR QTouch Studio will stop listening for USB connections and data. Please ensure that the Control View is always open. 4) Missing wdapi DLL If the Jungo USB driver DLL has been removed from the system (e.g. an application uninstalled previously also removed the Jungo USB driver) then AVR QTouch Studio will fail during start-up with a message indicating that the wdapi DLL file is missing. Re-installing AVR QTouch Studio will fix the issue. 5) Missing delta number for rotors and sliders When setting the Virtual Kit View in delta mode, no delta range number will be displayed for rotors and sliders. 6) Occasional Graph View issues It has been observed that the Graph view might fail on some computers from time to time. There is no known pattern or specific configuration that causes the failure. Please contact support if you observe this issue frequently. 3 System Requirements --------------------- * Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or newer Microsoft Windows installation. Supports both 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows Vista. * Microsoft Visual Studio Shell Redistributable Service Pack 1 _or_ Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 SDK Service Pack 1. * Microsoft .NET 3.5 Service Pack 1. Note: Three installers are provided for AVR QTouch Studio and it's possible to download an installer containing both Visual Studio Shell and .NET 3.5 or just Visual Studio Shell in addition to AVR QTouch Studio. Please use one of these if you do not have all the requirements installed. If unsure, simply download the installer containing .NET 3.5, Visual Studio Shell and AVR QTouch Studio and the installer will detect and install any missing requirement. 4 Support --------- Please send support requests to touch@atmel.com.
